Have a Charlie Subbed (leased) PVR508. Want to clone it in a 310.013. both have 102 cards. Do I have to have the 508's card opened to read what I need, and if I do, can this unlocking be covered up in case I ever have to send the 508 back to charlie? I wish this was mo easy.
Thanks, Moeez

I would not worry about sending an open card back, just have your "dog" chew it up a bit first.

Yup, the dog would do. I could also use a Barbeque Igniter to Zap the contacts of the card with several KV, and then claim a lightning strike. But wouldn't exposing the 508 card to the stream relock it anyway?
That aside, does anyone know of any reason why the 310 cannot be cloned to look like the 508? I will need to jtag the 508 from the top, as I would not want to try to disassemble the thing, and there is not a cutout in the bottom.
Being a real newbie I still have to buy my unlocker and ISO reader. I am guessing that once a reader is modified it is useless as a reader/writer for the CAMs. I am thinking Nexus for both, as they have been around awhile, and are cheaper than some others.
I will build my own Buffered Jtag Reader. I will place a buffer board inside the 301 and run cat 5 to a 25 pin Male D I made room for by removing the useless phone jack. I should only need to look at the 508 once, so I will kluge up something for that.

Reader/writer and unlooper are 2 diferent things. The readed/writer don't need moddig, the unlooper does, unless you purchase it already moded.
The 508 and 301 would need to be jtagged, the 301 would need to be changed to all the 508 numbers, it should work fine.
I have a 301 and a 510 running the same card, that is I can load a card, and put it in any of my 301's and or 510s, both work fine, I'm not subbed tho...
