View Full Version : dish cemu ird# & bk question
Hey CEMU Gurus,
I have only had CEMU working once since N2 took over, and have many failures. Most of this stems from the fact that I use a 510 PVR, and any changing of ird# and bk requires a re-initialization of the PVR hard drive wiping out all my recordings. So changing these things is not something I usually want to do, and also means I haven't tried too hard recently. :)
I have been running the rom10 setup on this PVR using IRD# R00 2324 5698 which I think is the regular Penga public setup.
I have downloaded CEMU 101.5 for windows and would like to give it a shot. I have a MAX/MEL external emu setup which BTW, does not emit unwanted RF beyone about 10' of distance as tested by me.
the 101.5 instructions say it has the following requirements for Dish emulation.
Ird:R 00 1864 2028
Box:8C A6 A8 8C FD E2 E2 63
My question is, can I change the IRD and BK settings in the CEMU.INI file so that I can use my PVR TSOP as is? Or is this going to run me into some SK or DT08 issues?
If I do change these in the CEMU.INI, will I have to change something else as well?
Thanks for helping an EMU id10t.

Just run Cemu95A_Autoroll.zip it has autoroll and will work with rom10 hack.
I am trying that one too, however so far, all I seem to be able to get is an 019 error.

Another noob question. Even though no one has answered my first ones really. :)
Can I use the Max&Mel Emu II to flash my chips? I figure I can put the atmel into my unlooper and flash it, but what about the other one.
there seems to be a lack of how-to information in many areas of EMU.

Hi Ohms,
I don't know why Cemu95a(autoroll) is not working for you. It uses the same ird/bk as the rom10to102 hack. Try replacing the eeprom it comes with the same one you load on your card.
Or create your own RSA patch using the ir/bk you have on your tsop. You need to download a program called GenDT08_SK_v2_2.
With GenDT08 you can load the dish.bin(or any dish rom 101 bin) and your U7 flash to generate a new patch. I don't know what effect this will have on your hd, but since you are not changing your ird/bk you shouldn't have to remarry drive.
I recommend you get this: http://www6.rapidupload.com/d.php?fi...filepath=10515
It's the virgin flash i used on mine, just change ird/bk, remarry and update : )
It sucks to start over but it's nice having real 101 emu.
BTW: you can backup all your pvr programs to your PC using pvr explorer.

Don't understand, I have a max/mel and i take out the 2313 chip and put it in my loader to flash.

The 2313 can be programmed with a DB25 connector, some 28AWG wire, soldering iron and breadboard.. plug chip in breadboard, solder wire to the DB25 and plug the ends into the breadboard. Program the chip with FBPRG16 and be on your way.. Cheap and easily done.

Since you have a loader, why not just put it in the hu loader and flash with xpatmel131 ?
Whatever is easier for you i guess. You are getting off topic though please post which method you are using to fix you ird/bk problem.
Thanks guys.
What I'm taking from this is the 2313 is the only chip that need to be programed. I'm sure my loader will work fine for this. I was asking if the other socketed chip (U1) needed to be flashed as well, but I guess not. Thanks for the replies.
Especially thanks to locash for all the suggestions. I am working WAY too many hours right now and probably won't be able to get back to messing with my emu setup for about three weeks. When I do, I will post back with results.
BTW, I tried the pvr explorer and copied all the movies off the drive, but after pvr explorer rendered them to mpg, they had 1 second pauses every 6 or 8 seconds through out all movies. I think my processor may be to blame as that pc has a 1.4 gig athalon. I will try it on my media center pc later. It's a 3.6 gig box.
Thanks again!
