Yes you can. But you can try to scrape the black chip coating (don't know what to call it) enough to be able to expose and and get some solder on it.

If not they sell them at digikey.com

The "ferrite" coating is what your talking about...might want to use a Dremel tool to grind away enough but not too much of the eeprom.
