Hi,
After I've made the window in the back of my receiver, I've connected the JTAG and been able to get IRD info, keys, etc.

Now, in order to convert it to dish, i've erased Flash1 SA 30. Disconnected the JTAG, unplug the receiver, went downstairs, hook it to the sat cable on the newly intalled 8PSK, and power it up.

Nothing.

Just "Please insert your card"...

Then I've removed the 8PSK and plugged the cable in the old input and power it up.

Nothing.

Went to the menus, check installation if is set to "without my permission", check switch and seen something like "wrong sat" with 90% quality.

Left it over night powered-up.

Nothing.

Is it something wrong in what I'm doing?
After I erase SA30 is it OK if I unplug it and plug it in again or should I hook the antenna right there in the computer room to get the new provider?

Help!

Did you read the eeprom before erase hi flash SA30??

You need to read the eeprom or write a new virgin eeprom to it! I will not erase any part of the sector untill you do this. That is most likely why you are getting wrong Satellite message, because it is still B3V firmware.

My preferred method is a virgin eeprom when switching providers but all you really need to do is read the eeprom then go to flash programming and erase the sector. Then stream

Hi and thanks again

Instead of following the instructions in your guide I've looked at
bellXpress.vu/convert.html

"Now if They hit your receiver's TSOP you can restore it fully with the saved file. You always have to do an EEPROM erase before writing a new BIN file onto it. Click Flash Programming and then the OK button on the next screen"

Not clear or me stupid.

I'll do that tonight.

do it the way I have spelled out

open jkesy
click on eeprom programming
try just reading it this time if it doesnt work then program a virgin next try
after reading the eeprom close this option
go to flash programming
erase hi flash sector SA30
restream the IRD with 8PSK first if it will not take then try without the 8PSK
it may take about an hour, should stay solid blue for a while then flash I think then yellow flash and finally will reboot

One more thing:
I don't know if you've seen my other post but here's the question:
There's a resistor between what's marked as U38 and the connection under the pin 5 on the JTAG port.
What is that?!?
Thanx

sorry I have not seen one of those, but if it is allowing you to jtag dont worry about it. If you are still having troubles you may have to do the BFL mod on the 6000

hi wannna_be,
I did the read thing and it worked like a charm.
five minutes later, after I hooked the cable in the 8psk module i had evrything downloaded. it's a dishnet now...
now the next thing it's the avr-x card that I just received today...
Thanks!

hmmm, gee you gave us a lot of information here to help you with your problem. Hold on I will do my mind reading trick!

Are you going from Bell to Dish? If not you are thread capping and should have started a new thread and not used the PM feature.

What method are you using? Atmega, Rom10 to Rom10x, Rom101/Rom102 SK?, DT08, your own info off a OA tier, Cemu?

How long did you wait after you hooked it back up to the dish?

Did you program the U41 bin to the U41 TSOP and U45 to U45 or did you program Flash1 from Flashedit bin to Flash1 Jkeys and Flash2 from Flashedit bin to Flash2 Jkeys?

My best mind reading says you either

1. flashed wrong bin to each TSOP chip
2. flashed wrong build of either eeprom or TSOP
3. flashed a corrupt TSOP bin or bins
