the public 3m or a dumped subscribed bin with altered tiers used as a clone?
Is the sub bin any safer than the public 3m as far a getting hit with an ecm?
Trying to decide if it's worth the risk to dump my sub or just use public 3m.

I don't think it's the ecm's you need to worry about, it's the update to v. 242 right now. The blocker's the question. Just make sure to keep your card locked using v.16 or v.22.

What you talking about with this v242 stuff tobyguy? Second post with these comments that doesn't seem to relate to the original post.

well if you dump your sub does that mark the card? if you dumped your sub i don't think you would want a block? right ??
You still have to install the intercept, which is a potential target. Some of the rom fixes overwrite the intercept for exactly this reason.

I was just making the point that the concern right now isn't ECM's.
That it's cards getting locked with rev. 242.
that's all.

That's what was confusing me. I hadn't seen rev242 yet so I couldn't figure out if tobyguy was talking about cam or receiver firmware.
Hmmmm, rom101 on Bev. That might be a great combo to try since Bev never issued a rom101. Might not be since they might be able to hit it easier without effecting legit subs. Be interesting to see how it plays out.
