first of all when i try to view the NBA and NHL channels on dish 110 it says they are scrambled or bad channel. is there something I am missing right now or does this happen to everyone...using PANSAT 2700A at the moment with 140 bin loaded Dec 13th.

also can some explain to me the difference betweeen all the methods of scanning the channels aka
sat scan
blind scan
tp scan and so on

Some fta receiver will not get the nba and nhl channels, DN changes the video pid each day. Or just before the game starts. Some have had luck viewing the channel the game is going to be on before it starts, then not changing channels until the game is over.

Sat scan will scan the tp frequencies stored in the receiver memory.

Blind scan will scan all tp frequencies on the satellite. This type of scan will give you more channels, it does not mean that all channels will have video on them.

TP scan is for scanning one transponder frequency on a satellite.

I do not remember the transponder's numbers, but you will be able to watch those channels if you make a Tp scan an hour before the game starts or during the game; maybe somebody else post that info again!!!
