I plan on doing a one-chip emu with a dish 3900 receiver.

I have flashes for my atmel chip and plan to use my unlooper but if that doesn’t work I will make the easy atmel programmer.

My first question is anyone doing this same setup and can confirm it works on a 3900?

I have a bunch of 3900 tsop images... and this is what has given me the most confusion. I did N1 and fixed my tsop on rare ecms... but I am not sure what flash to apply to get emulation going. I see some posts saying you have to clear your tsop and then let it stream update is this mandatory? Or do some of the tsop images have all the updates??

Clearing your TSOP is necessary if you want the newest firmware build for your IRD build. This blanks a section of the TSOP that is required to be there and forces the IRD to update to the latest firmware available. Its not necessary if you have working backups or dumps of TSOPs. You don't need to apply any flashes, patches, fixes or blockers to the TSOP. Just a TSOP with the correct information in it is enough. (IRD# and boxkeys for CEMU - flashedit is the program you are searching for) If you are using a dump make sure that you get the correct build, first 2 letters are critical. If you don't get a sat signal your TSOP is probably bad, or your eeprom is no good.

For an emu you do not need to mod the IRD TSOP as CEMU will determine the SK/DT08 on boot, so as long as your IRD info matches up to the CEMU info you should be set to go.

Please tell me why you are PLANNING to build a one chip?
These non MAX232 emus were only invented to prove the point that it could be done.
Just because you could chop a tree down with a frozen salmon doesn't mean an axe isn't the best way to go....

$25 gets you an internal max&mel or $20 gets you a kit DELIVERED!
Why would you want to put your equipment in jeopardy for a few cents?

Where can I get a $20.00 kit delivered?
Is there a downloadable schematic for this?
