This seems like a basic question and I hope that it is, but here goes.

I've read a lot of posts about how to... my Rom 102 card. I ordered the Mikobu from Milli and it should be here next week. I've opened several of the programs like Nagraedit, etc. to poke around and learn before I get into and actually screw up a card, but when the posts say to write to it with an ISO programmer which one? I bought one before back in the magic card days but it plugs into the parallel port. I have an old iso 7618 (serial) from the good ol H days but I remeber that a different crystal was involved.

What programmer do I use and then which programto write tothe card.

Thanks for the help....please excuse my ignorance. I'm always late to the latest game.

the iso for the h card should work. the only thing you may have to do is replace the crystal if it is the wrong Mhz. it should be 3.68mhz:)

Thank you forthe replies. I'll change out my crystal first and if I ruinit, I'll know I can turn to Milli to buy a new one.

Thanks for responding!

Is there any reason I can't use my new Mikobu Pro to write to the card when I'm done opening it up?

Thanks

It's just to open the card , you need a iso (programer to write to it) . So - you'll need two units total , one to open them & one to write to them .

If I start with an "open" card will I still need a Mikobu? What rev is considered "open"?

If the card is open, meaning A0ff intercept installed, then all you need is the ISO to program the card. The intercept will need to be installed before you can read the card with N2edit7. The intercept can be installed on either rev103 or 105 and be open.
