Hey there I have a 5800 (DC3D) build pvr that is not cooperating with me.

It was working fine on bell subbed, and the pvr functions worked too.

So I decided to mod the ird and move to dish.

Loaded virgin p063 and the receiver took the update up to p304 with the harddrive unplugged, so I thought kewl the jtag works, so i tried to reflash cause i just plugged the hdd in while I was watching tv on the receiver, and got a error message, and assumed that the hdd did not marry, but not to my liking I was unable to get the green light to come on.

I have tried several different flashes, and still no luck let it stream overnight, and have the OJ1 mod and the vid mod, but I have hit a brick wall

I have done many 3100, 2700 receiver mods but this is 1st pvr

Please let me know what u think

Also in jkeys i can read and write the flashes no prob and have tried to flash back the original flash also but there is still no light but the fan comes on everytime I plug it in, any suggestions or anyone in the Vancouver area.

add me to msn thanks found_it99@hotmail.com

been trying for 11 days and reading all the posts no luck and is there anyway to test the equipment, mods.

Did I read it right? You plugged the hard drive in while watching TV????
Or do you mean the hard drive was plugged in after you verified the receiver worked?? And then plugged in, with the receiver unplugged?? I hope the latter is the case. NEVER plug or unplug anything with the receiver powered.

There is NO REASON to stream with the harddrive unplugged, if you want PVR functions. The whole purpose of loading P063 firmware is to marry the drive, it does not have to stream to do that.

Start over, save the p304 flash, load the P063, with a virgin eeprom, unplug, turn off all mods (OJ1 and vid mod), plug back in, the LED should come back on after a couple minutes, if it does, it should have married. Then unplug, turn mods back on, reflash it up to the p304 you streamed up to. Then if it did not marry, you will get harddrive errors, and may have to start over again, and zero the hard drive..

Sometimes the PVRs can be a challenge, post results, and we'll see if we can't get you back up.

Well I tried to load the p063 again and it still never comes on, d u think the receiver is fried, but I can read, write everything and when i plug it in, it sounds like power supply turns on and fan comes on even after i reflash any tsop to it is that correct, but if i unplug the ird, and replug it in (all done quickly) the fan does not come on. Let me know if the fan should or should not come on and do u have a working p063 DC3D flash and is there anyway to see if the complete flash is written, this is for a rom10

So sorry for the run on sentences, late for work thanks guys

Load the P063, and virgin eeprom.....unplug everything and turn off mods, power up and let it sit, maybe 5 mins of so, see if the LED comes back on.......

What are you flash loading as P063?? "moved bootstrap" or "moved ird info", or just palin 501?????

If you don't know send me a zipped or rar-ed copy.

The 3 wire vid mod that you used is a PVR killer..........

I would not hold too much hope for it, I have killed a couple by accident too, shit happens, and I have seen MANY sent to me with hopes of recovery, DOA.
I STRONGLY advise against the 3 wire vid mod, some swear by it, but I have seen it kill many PVRs, so my recommendation stands, DON'T USE THE 3 WIRE METHOD.
