IRD Model: DP501
Problem: getting FFFFFFFFFFF error
Jkeys is able to retrieve the IRD model but not the box keys and/or anything else. I have a backup of my IRD and trying to load back the TSOP and EEPROM onto the receiver but keep getting mfg FFFFFFFFFFFFF and launched the Flash Programming section within Jkeys. I tried writing the EEPROM and not luck either. My IRD has two TSOPs 323GT.
Any thoughts on this?

Ok no replies, now I pissed... just kidding. I bought a digital VOM to check continuity and i'm planning on working on my 501 this weekend. Can anyone tell me or direct me on how to vidmod my 501? My IRD has two 323GT chips and I read that those needs to be vidmodded.
can anybody shed some light?

Ok so what test method are you using, some atmega tsop mods need the box keys fffffffffffff out.
to load tsop flash 2 you need to jump OJ1 . personnall just erase flash 1 an two then program flash 2 and eeprom.
If not check ( as you said ) continuity of your jtag.
Never vid moded my 501 but jump Oj1 and buffer jtag,

Oj1 is two pads, one round / one square, outlined in a small white box, right next to the crystal. There is a Oj1 marking on the board in the vicinity but not right at Oj1. Some of the 510 jtag how-to's show a picture, do a search.
I am curious how you read your tsops with jkeys? Oj1 needs to be jumped normally for this read operation also. There are other points that can be grounded though to put the IRD to sleep so it can be jtagged, that must be what you used.
Gt chips need the vidmod..... The 2 cut / 4 wire vidmod is the only safe way, stay away from the 1 cut method, it has fried the occasional IRD.
