Yes... google HDLoader.
Program that does just what you are asking, and also keeps your warranty intact.
but, they don;t work on the slimlines... because teh slimline doesn;t have the HD capability.. unless you wanna go the USB route.. that's another story.
If ya get excited enuff, you can even set up wireless capability to transfer to and from your PS2 and Comp.

I'm not giving this infor up front because I want the questions to be asked.. this helps others that are reading to understand what is going on and to learn from the questions.
HDLoader is a dieing app.. it has been hacked and renamed HDAdvanced, but still a pay for use app. HDLaoder had limitations, such as HD size compatibility.
Everything I have read seems to point to the app not having been hacked or not working on cracked versions.. it seems best to actually buy a copy. It really isn;t expensive, less than $25.
There are also issues with playing on-line games, as teh DNA$ info isn;t transfered and is needed to authenticate your game as a legal copy. The advantages are much faster game loading times and the obvious, rent and copy w/o having to buy the game.
The wireless connection isn;t for downloading from the net.. it is simply to transfer from your PC to your PS2. There are progranms used for finding and downloading ISO files of the games for adding to your collection.

thanks for the info- yeah i didn't think my ps2 would be able to dl the games from the net, but i do already have a wireless network in my house so it would be great to get some games off the net and test them out- so my best bet would be to buy the disc and go from there? wouldn't you think you could just install the files from a computer- wonder why you would need the disc? must be protected- anyhow would it be safe to get off ebay?

If you mod the PS2 you can just download HD advance but that would require you to void the warranty and open the PS2. It's a much better choice to just get the modchip.
I bought my PS2 with Mod Chip but never played Burnt games I am getting a 120GB HD and the HD Advance Software plus Netwotk Card what is the best way for me to do this.....?
Thanks.

I think Maxtor drives work best in the PS2. They fit perfect.
I can upload HDloader to torrents section if someone needs it.

Look into the PS2 independance exploit, as long as its a fatboy and you have a PSX game you need no modchip to use the HD. I recommend staying AWAY from HDloader and investing into a softmod if you want HDD support. check out ps2hd.com for info on why, you can see the freeware version supports like 20 or 30% more titles than the retail disc. You can even FTP into your console to backup gamesaves or transfer new games over the wire using the HD dump program by lord bogami with a softmod.
Advantage of a chip is it will boot from media, and most chips support online play one way or another with backups, along with DEV modes so you don't need the PSX disc to trigger the launch of an ELF file.
You cannot use an SATA drive without an adapter which is like $40 and too big to fit in the housing. If you get a WD or seagate that has a 10-pin configure instead of 8 you can take the metal shielding off the back of the adapter and file the edge of the power connector a bit so you can stretch it into place on the drives. Done it with my WD 160GB and no problems yet - if I transport it sometimes it comes loose, easy to fix as long as you have a key handly to undo the adapter.
