I got a CS5000 and its better than the 3100, picture in guide, very fast guide, and you get 3 days of information, I think the picture is better on the CS than the 3100.
I was using the AVR-X card, its nice not to have to put in the keys.
I'm using bev also.

hmmmm an atmega card...$20....yep..thatll work.....for what youd be paying for one magical avrx card..you could get 5 receivers up and running..think about it...mili now sells atmega cards....in fact....sells everything but the syndrome card but when he figures out how to turn that into a magical card also...he'll sell that mofo' too....lol...but seriously...go with an atmega and mili is as good as anyone to buy that from...whomever you buy from...money order only!

yes..you get bev and dish channels with a 2700...but why not get a 3500 instead?
stay away from the 2500's..too many fookin' clones being dumped....they dont even make the 2500 any longer.....i have two of them...been testing them for about a year and half now.....problem free...never jtagged...etc...

There hasn't been no down time with my CS5000 in a month, you get bev,,you get dishnet,, you just need to point your dishes to the right provider.
I'm getting Bev right now,, No one wants to go on the roof in 3 ft of snow to put up a dish for dishnet.

I have 2 Coolsat5000platinum's and they work great for BEV and Dishnet.
There is Zero down time if you learn to enter Keys yourself. For now the bins are working great and Autorolling the Keys for both BEV and Dish, but if for some reason they don't Roll the Keys you can enter them with the remote in a couple minutes or use Coolsat Pro Loader to update them. It's the Satellite Testing I have ever done.
Instructions For The Coolsat STB(Receiver)
Never Hook Up The DiSEqC Switch When There Is Power To The STB(Receiver)
It Can Short The DiSEqC Switch!!!!!:
1 - RS232 Cable(Coolsat5000 & Coolsat4000Pro use the straight DB9 cable and the Coolsat4000 Plus uses the Null cable)
2 - Current Coolsat 5000_NORW_119.stb bin file(The Coolsat4000 uses a different bin than the Coolsat5000platinum)
3 - Coolsat Pro Loader v2.2 software
Flashing The Coolsat BIN:
1. Turn power OFF on Coolsat with the front button or with remote.
2. Turn OFF rear power switch before making any connections.
3. Unplug the receiver.
4. With all power OFF.
5. Connect RS232 cable from Coolsat to PC.
6. Plug in the receiver.
7. Open the Coolsat Pro Loader v2.2 software.
8. Turn ON the REAR reset switch on back of the Coolsat. and turn ON front power button.
9. Browse and find your Coolsat 5000_NORW_119.stb bin file (or current
bin file) in the Open window. Select the Coolsat 5000_NORW_119.stb file, then click Open. The Coolsat_5000_119 bin rolls Dishnet Keys and BEV Keys.
10. Click Auto Detect to see if port setting is correct and your Coolsat is detected. If port setting is correct, the Comm Port and current bin version loaded to the receiver will show. If you are not able to connect to Coolsat, Turn the rear power switch OFF and back ON.
11. Click Exit to exit the Auto Detect.
12. Click Connect, another window will open
13. Click Start.
You will see System Reset, Sending %’s, Sending Ok and Erasing the bin. Do not interrupt until the Finish window opens. The Finish window will show the prior version of bin loaded.
14. Click Finish.
15. Click Auto Detect and Current version bin loaded will appear.
16. Exit out of the Coolsat Pro Loader program-
17. Turn OFF Coolsat with rear reset button
18. Disconnect RS232 Cable from your PC.
19. Unplug Coolsat.
20. Reconnect LNB cable in and cable out to TV.
21. Plug IN Coolsat
22. Turn ON rear reset switch.
23. Turn ON front button and wait for clock to come on. If first time flash

You can adjust the - Brightness/Contrast and Color - by Hitting the Yellow Button on the remote while on a Channel .To make adjustments change the Mode from Default to User and then you can make changes. You can then leave it set to User.
