I noticed last year when I was playing with my 1meter primestar dish
with the old standard ku linear lnb I could get dish/bev transponders
up to about freq 12515. I was wondering if the same thing is possible
with a universal linear lnb? I tried a few days ago and got nothing.
I had the dish aimed with the normal circular lnb then swapped the
lnb out and changed the receiver settings to match.

The primestar uses a linear LNA, Dish uses circular LNA's Check out this web site, it has lots of idea's for the primestar. Why not have 105 (Linear) , 110 and 119 both Circular. Check this out!

I don't think a single Univerisal LNA will get more than one sat at a time, you will have to move it 9 degrees for Dish sats. Mount 3 lna's, Linear dead center of the dish, 110, 119 to the right of center when looking straight into the dish.

I was aimed at amazonas 61.0 with the primestar standard ku
linear and dishnet 61.5 also came blasting through because of
the size of the dish and signal strength.
So you don't really need a circular lnb if the dish is big enough.
The limiting factor is the lnb frequency, that's why I was only
able to get transponders up to 12500 or so.
The dish I will be playing with has a motor and will be targetting
linear sats, I just wondered if the universal ku lnb will also be
able to get dish/bev as a bonus.
