Coolsat 5000, can't get patch downloaded to reciever

I had a friend help me set up my CS5000 but after I needed new patch, he's not around to help with it. Is there a place I can find out how to get step by step instructions on how the download from my patch to the reciever. I got the patch but having a bad time trying to get it to reciever. Any help would be great, a link or something please.

Need a little more info. What proggy's are you using to load with and what cable do you have (null or straight) What file you trying to write ????
