What kind of programmer?

Sorry, about the ignorance. A fellow coworker gave me a programmer of some sort. He said its just a regular iso programmer if I recall correctly. Basically, its got the two crystals 3.579 and 3.864, its got a place for a smart card, two sets of switches, one set says programmer and other unlooper. Ive also noticed its got an atmel at90s2313, with 2 max232 ics, of course female d9 comm port. The other ics are 74hc02n,74hc405,74hc00b174hc04 if this means anything. Its also got a place for a 9volt dc pwr supply. My friend no longer works with me, otherwise I would ask him. Can anybody please help me and tell me what the hell do I have holding, in my hand. And can I put it to good use, anywhere I can get a idiots guide, to programming, I done emulation with maxmel, and dvb cards, never programming, dont know how to start. :D

yes, sounds like you have an iso programmer to program plastic. You should look in the rom programming sections.

I dont mind buying the real thing, Im just a scarry cat, dont want to do anykind of electronic transaction that can be trackable, thats why I chose emu for testing. If I can find a place where I can send money order, where it can be mailed to a P.O. Box, with a fake name, or no name even, I be buying in a heart beat.

mili's store is the place for that. fake name, money order the whole 9 untraceable yards. Just make sure you get a money order in a bank that doesn't have your account :)
