Thanks to Satvia and any / all others who bring us these tools so we can test...

I'm getting back into the game using an Atmega so I'm following the instructions for the satvia fix for dummies post. Here is what I’m doing and it works!!! Lots of reading but this is what I distilled the info down to for my 2700 going from N1 to N2 and being out of the game for the last 6 months.

GET RECEIVER READY

The 2700 has been turned on for about a week. Unfortunately for me I forgot to set the “update without permission” so I did that today and turned off the receiver.
Within 5 min I watched it upgrade to latest 853 fw from 846 fw (box off last 6 months). I unplugged and moved the receiver to the computer work bench.
Tried to jtag the box with no luck on laptop. Check LPT settings and finally had to enable LPT in BIOS. Not enabled by default in laptops.
I successfully jtagged the box and got the information on the screen. Wrote down IRD #, Box Keys, and Build Cfg. Using Jkeys 2.9.10
Verified that Software 853P is displayed
In the “Save Memory” section of the main screen I selected “Save Mem” to save the TSOP on the 2700. Save finished in about 40 seconds.
Click on “EEProm Programming”
Power off / power on / select OK to get the EEPROM Programming window open. It correctly IDs may system as 2800 with EEPROM as 24LC16.
Click on “Save” to save EEPROM in the IRD / Flash Selection of the window. Save finishes in about 2 seconds.
Close “EEPROM Programming” window – red x
Close Jkeys – red x
Disconnect power from receiver and then disconnect jtag
Open Flash Edit program 2.0a.2
Use drop down box to select my system as 2700/2800/3700
Click “…” and select my TSOP file
Click on “Open”
Click on “Advanced”
Change IRD# (HEX) to 01 1C 74 6C
Change Box Keys to 8C A6 A8 8C FD E2 E2 63
Click on “ Fix CRC” to get back to green
Verify “Build Config” matches
Click “Save As”
Select “Save Personal Dump”
Name the file and click save
Click “close”
Click on “…” and select the new TSOP file I just saved
Click on “Open”
Verify that IRD# (HEX) / Box Keys / Build Config are correct / CRC is green.
Click “close”
Click on “…” and select the new TSOP file I just saved and verified
Select “EEPROM” from the drop down box
Click “Open”
Click “Save As”
Select “Save Cleaned EEPROM” from drop down box
Name the file and click save – Got a popup box indicating “Success: EEProm virginized Successfully”
Click “close”
Close FlashEdit – black X
Hook up jtag and get info on the screen.
Click “Flash Programming”
Power off / power on / select OK to get the EEPROM Programming window open.
Click “Erase” with “Full” being displayed in the Chip / Sector Programming section.
Click “yes” on pop-up
Click “Erase” with “Full” being displayed in the Chip / Sector Programming section.
Click “yes” on pop-up
Click “Erase” with “Full” being displayed in the Chip / Sector Programming section.
Click “yes” on pop-up
Click “Program”. I get a pop up about "program at address 0x7FF8000, size 0x8000 and answer yes
Select my modified TSOP for satvia and hit “open”. Flash programs in about 45 seconds then hit “OK”.
Close “Flash Programming” window – red x
In main Jkeys window select “EEPROM Programming”
Click “Program” in the IRD / Flash Selection section.
Select my modified EEPROM for satvia and hit “open”. EEPROM programs in about 10 seconds then hit “OK”.
Close “EEPROM Programming” window – red x
Close Jkeys – red x
Unplug receiver
Open Jkeys
Plug receiver back in
Verified that jkeys is now showing satvia IRD# and Box Keys
Unplug receiver
Close jkeys – red x
Disconnect jtag
That is all receiver should be ready to go!!
================================================== ===========

Program Atmega using Satvia Dish N2 Atmega No RSA Mod V4

Open Jeepers
Jeepers screen has all the info from the pfg file preloaded
Verified the “Board Configuration” to be 18.00 MHz
Change zip code
Click on Atmel , Atmega 128 and go down and click on Alternate Chip Erase.
Repeat 5 times
Click on Atmel , Atmega 128, and go down to Erase /Flash EEProm.
Repeat 5 times
Click on “Full Monty”
Jeepers programs the card. Click OK when completed.
Close Jeepers – red x
Disconnect Atmega from programmer and laptop
Atmega should now be programmed and ready to go
=================================================

Hook up receiver….

Return receiver to living room
Hook up receiver to TV
Hook up dish cable to receiver
Insert Atmega card
Plug in receiver
As soon as checking for Sat signal is displayed ran a check switch everything passed.
Wait a few minutes for card to synch up or something and have picture / voice.
Had to play with receiver settings to get rid of password. Just unlocked the box. For some reason came locked.
Success everything is working fine.

Glad I can help. Since I was out of the game for a while I figured I'd have a problem so I kept a log of each action. I had to do this twice to get it to work. Silly me didn't pay attention and applied the satvia bev no rsa to my system. When it didn't work I redid all the steps and saw the error. Good practice.

After feeling the joy of getting the TV working it looked like a good thing to post. Hope it helps lots of folks. This is geared to me using my existing TSOP so I didn't have to do the extra steps of editing files and setting the buld config. Folks will want to watch out for that added step.

Good luck everyone

Hi paulhanna,

I was goig through your step by step prcocedure for Satvia that you posted about three weeks ago. I am using a 2700 (dish) for the satvia no rsa mod. The problem is with the eeprom. I am following the step by step ok until I get to the click on .... and select my new tsop file etc . When I finish the steps a windo pops up and says Sucessfully performed function (s) with notes (s) none.

I have gone over this over and over what am I doing wrong help

What version of Jkeys and flash edit are you using? This post assumes your using the same versions so you get the same menus in the tools. If your using different tools you may be getting extra pop up msgs. Have you gone through the entire step by step and seen if it works?

When you get to this step you are trying to verify the eeprom that you changed is accurate. I added these steps because sometime it looks like you saved but it didn't or people pick the wrong file. It is important that you select a new file name when you save the file after editing and then pick the same file when you verifiy the changes.

Send me an email or IM with more details if you didn't get this going.

Your procedure is applicable to modify the TSOP's of this resever??
Please confirm or give me a hint to go to a how to since I cannot find one

pauhanna
04-12-2006, 03:57 PM
Yes it is applicable. The only difference is the 301 has 2 TSOPs that you have to verify the boxkeys, build config, and IRD number

puahanna, 301.13 can have 2 or 1 TSOP. Easily checked by looking inside.
Also, the build ID doesn't make any difference on this receiver.
There is an extra step for 301.13- Make sure you apply no_rsa script to the TSOP.
i don't fully understand to purpose of it except that you need it and it references SK - I gues newer receiver.
Easiest -get virgin tsop 341 for single (if you have single), modify box keys and ird #, apply script, create eeprom all with flasheditbeta9, write with jkeys, TCFD iii for pfg and you are done.

It doesn't say so in the sticky, but I assume we set the box to NOT accept updates without asking??

Electric_Menace
04-12-2006, 09:26 PM
Actually it shouldn't matter. The no_rsa mod can accept updates.
I wonder if 301.13 can also update without problems since it needs that extra bypass SK script.???

yes thats it, someone put it in wrong place.
there isa another one too that somebody put in yet another place. then they bitch cause it is a copy of the same file but yet they cant put it in the correct section.

When searching for satvia it wont tell me where the file is it just list them

Using Satvia V3; Regular channels open and good; I could watch a PPV sports event TNA wrestling but when I tried to watch a PPV movie got a message screen "EVENT LOCKED with PASSWORD".
Researched the posts; tried "0000"; tried right arrow to skip entry and just hit enter; did a memory dump search and PW memory location all "0's"
Any ideas - Thanks

balaban32
05-17-2006, 10:42 PM
I've done a few of the passwords and sometimes they work right away and sometimes it takes a few tries. I've had success doing the :
Menu
6
3
info
left, right, left, right( until I get the memory corrupt screen)
then tv/sat

unplug and restart
then unlock by going staight to OK.

Sometimes you have to do it a few times.

Ok then we can try this i found on another site.

Forgotten password's

1. Using remote, press MENU, 6, then 3
2. Press the following sequence INFO, BROWSE, THEME
3. Go to line 01C0 on the receiver dump screen and your password should be there. ( you will have to scroll down a little ways )

You will see 4 sets of 8 digits/letters etc. In the 3rd set on this line you will see something like 12340000. The first 4 numbers 12 34, ned to be reversed to read 34 12
for mine the third line read 751900000 which when reversed were 1975.

Thank You Again
