refurbed 501 & Rom 102

Ok I finally got my 501 jtagged and read the flashes and saved them.
I Put the 501 in the stream and let it update tp P3.04.
With Rom 102 in it it says this receiver is not yet authorized.
No if I want to use my Rom 102 with this receiver, I searched for what to do. I've read everything regarding sk's etc.
Now if I want to use this card(it came with the unit, but I don't know if it was origiginal card), I have to alter my flash 2(U7) and put in the boxkeys, ird etc. from the 102 3m file so that they match.
Flash U7 with altered flash, then write virgin eeprom, erase flash 1 and re stream let update and away you go.
Is this correct?
I've searched and read about all pvr problems, the end result is I got it to work, but I couldn't find out exactly how.

This is not correct.

U6 and U7 are mirror images of each other. What you do to one, you do to
the other AT THE SAME TIME.

If you write to U7 and erase U6 you will end up with both erased.

If I was doing it I would use GenDt08 with your own IRD and Boxkeys.
The only change to your TSOP is the SK. That way you don't have the
hassel of marrying the the HD to the IRD.

Are you serious?? No Idea?? Come on man read a little. There is the Rom unlocking forum for unlock info. Receivers forum for receiver info.....ever hear of a modded unlooper?? that's to unlock, ISO loader, to program with.

Read a little, you'll learn a lot.

Man, you dont know how much you helped me if what you say is true. am working on programming tomico - satvia and keep having problems with my 501. the instructions i have say erase u7, program, erase u6 then program eeprom. all i get is green power light and red record light. maybe i keep erasing u7, by erasing u6. another note, do i need to use the jumper on a topside jtag (oj1)? Jkeys seems to be working ok without it...
