301.013 Vid Mod???

I have recently acquired a 301.013 reciever and have been busy reading up on how to get this reciever in play. I plan on installing a top side header in order to JTAG with an Atmega card. The one question which remains unclear is whether a VID MOD is still required in order to flash the TSOP and Eeprom???

For writing to the tsop, yes, you will have to do the vid mod.
