I think that Atmega is the least used testing device presently, so not many people either know how to help with your problem or just not many people to help period.

i believe it is a fuse bit but i have now clue on atmega's and cant help. avrx and rom programming now that is another story. cross posting wont help though nor will posting in a dish forum asking someone to help in the atmega forum. there are plenty of other forums out there besides just this one that im sure you can find the info you are looking for.
