DISH 301.010 to BEV 3100

I have a Dish 301.010 and I want to convert it to a Bell 3100 to use a AVR-X. I don't have the original card, but I do have a JTAG. I'm wondering how easy it is to write the TSOP with a JTAG to convert it? I'm assuming I can't just stream it for the conversion because it doesn't have a card. What would be the easiest way to convert it?

I know how to erase the TSOP with a JTAG, but do I need to have a card in the receiver for it to download the new TSOP?

Just erase the sector, plug the IRD in the stream without the card first. Once it finishes to restream it will ask for the card and eventually show you an Info screen. Program your card and go watch TV.
