i picked up 2 311 rg 15bfrom neighbor with dish for 20 bucks...they cant find cards unfortunatly...so im wondering should i get cards for them a vid mod or use avr or atmega...looking for some recomendations....wanting to get up and running...thanks all

If they are 311's, they have the cards built on to the board. They are a bit complicated to get going but can be done.

Here is a link to the how to, CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL!!!! I cant stress that enough. You will mess these up in a heartbeat if you are not very skilled with soldering iron. I messed up 2 before I finally got the hang of doing this. I can do them almost with my eyes closed now that I found the right iron and got the skill down. I attatched a how to also, shows all the points to hook to and cut traces. Rename the file to 311howto.zip and open it up, has instructions and all. Good luck

thanks for the info....im pretty good with an iron...so lets hope for the best...the attached file is unreadable...comes up as garbage...can you send it to me?

a step by step on how to hook up avr cards would be great...want to make sure i do it correctly...lol

Bellexpress.vu has a how to.
Forget AVR-X cards in a 311 for now.......
