Anybody modded Absolute 1 loader?

Im gonna mod my absolute 1 and my question is in the picture attatched do I need to solder to the trace or can I just go to the contact point above it? There seems to be a few other spots where it shows soldered to the trace but if there is a contact point near by that connects to that trace it would do the same thing right? And also it says to remove the green light- so do I just unsolder and remove it? Sorry if these sound like dumb questions. Id rather be sure about what im doing before i do it. And also what gauge wire should I use? Would the same wire that is used to install the tsop lock work?

Ok well I now realize that i have to put a 2.2k ohm resistor and a potentiometer. Does anyone have any pics or a guide on how to do the mod? There's a file in the file section but it doesnt work.
