I replaced the factory 5k ohm pot with a 25 ohm pot and it works great for rom 102's.

No, but you do have to take out that tiny little itsy bitsy small assed pot that is there and then run some wires from where it was to your new pot like I did. Big pots and Bigger Knobs, that's my style. Any potentiometer from 25 ohms up to 5k will work but like I said for 102's 25 ohm pot works great on mine.

Why do they use those microscopic pots anyway? Are they that much chearper than a slightly larger one.
Also, the quality is crap. I can't even see the slot for the screwdriver anymore.it looks like it's been dug out. Difficult to turn. Replacing is gonna be a pain.
