Hi,
I have a star choice elliptical dish kicking around and was hoping that I can just pick up a dish network lnb and mount that to the star choice dish to receive sats 110 and 119. I know the starchoice one won't work as star choice uses vert and hort signals and dish and bell using sprial or whatever you want to describe them as. And since dish/bell uses circle pattern does that elimante the need to adjust the skew of the dish as per starchoice's setting? TIA

yes you can,
I have done several of them with great success.
you have to cut the same length off the end where the lnb connects because the plastic "Y" has to be connected to the arm. You have to have the LNB head in the same place as the origonal sar head.
I then use a signal meter to aim - works great.

If someone has the DTV tipple LNB elliptical dish sitting around , you can use the same method like Bigeee did to receive 110, 119 or Bev 82 & 91 sat, works great!

so i could get 2 lnbs and the y adapter and just shorten the star choice arm by the amount they adds? Is there a dual lnb in one (like the starchoice one) that i can just pop on there? is that what mirian is talking about? if so what is the model for that one? is it the dish500 or whatever?

you need a y adapter and a legacy or a dish pro LNBF head depending on which receiver you are using - e-bay has a million for sale

This how I modify DTV dish: Cut the the arm measuring from the reflector end 91/2" long (for starchioce 12" long), insure Y yoke adapter and mark the position of the holes and drill it. Screw and secure the yoke and LNBF and you good to go. This works like a 500 dish.
