Hi Guys

Just modded a Bev 3100 to Satvia, and now when I pluged in the ird I have no power and no green light. Just wondering if I forgot a step or did something wrong. I've modded many 2800, and 2700 with no problems.
Can anyone have any idea??

Thanks

By bev 3100 you mean a 3100.010 right? the 013 build have TSOP protection that need to have a pin shorted to 12V while programming.

When you plug the IRD in you get no green light at all, and it won't power on right? To sum it up you erased the bootsector of the IRD. Simple as that. Its locate in the first 60000 bytes of the TSOP, so I presume that your jtag screwed up, a pin/wire came loose or you wrote the wrong flashes to it.

Try to jtag back into the unit with jkeys, I can almost assure you that it will be an unknown device and you won't be able to erase or write the flash. If so you will have to do a 3100 resserection.

Read up on how to use Wall 2.0 or 2.2, You want to write the first 60000 bytes of an unmodded TSOP to the IRD, after that when you plug it in you should have green light. If so your boot sector is right, stick it in the stream again and get yourself a new TSOP, This is the easiest way. Of course you can also try to jkey in again, if you have success reprogram the TSOP with a good one and be on your way.

Key with resurrecting is patience, took me 6 hours + to bring back a 3100 one day when a jtag wire fell off during programming. I had to resort to a fresh windows install computer (my emu computer actually) to get wall to write a new TSOP. Would just pretend to write on my other system. To this day I can't get that computer to jtag in to that IRD, works with all others I tried. Weird.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the reply yes it's a 3100.010, I'll try to reflash the tsop again and let you know what happends.

Your bootstrap is probably in a coma..

As I said its not a fun task to bring it back to life, your bootsector (or bootstrap) is no good... took 6 hr on my 3100 to recoup it. Try and try again until it works. I would try another comp system than the one you originally used, and ensure that your JTAG is good with a continuality/ohm meter. If you can JTAG in, erase your TSOPs clean 3 times and then write a good one back to the IRD. unhook your jtag and it should give a green light when you power up. You only need the first 60000 bytes of the flash on the IRD for the bootstrap.

Make sure the TSOPs you are using are good, like use the ones you orignally read from the IRD, and going in the right section (U22 and U23).

It might be a long shot, but if nothing is happening and you are getting successful writes, could the battery be dead in your remote and the IRD's LED blown? The IRD won't JTAG if no power is applied to it so I presume no fuses on the board have blown..

Hi ruciz
Tried everyting finally I got my Tsop from my Dish 301.010 and did the 60000 bytes on the Bev ird, guess what power back on, so it means that my tsop from Bev are no good....I'll try to look for unmodded tsop for my Bev ird and let you know what happends? Just wondering can I use my Dish tsop instead?
Thanks

If you got the fist 60000 bytes on the IRD with a dish TSOP restream it on BEV and it should download a pretty new bev TSOP for the IRD. Then you can mod that TSOP. If it don't take an update in 30 min then I would try to mod your dish file to have a bev IRD # but it should take with either one I do believe.

Glad it worked out for you.

I did restream on Bev and it took an update, what I'll do is save the new update and modd with the Satvia and see what happends. Or try to modd the Dish tsop.
I did download some unmoodded tsop from this site it case I'll need them.
I'll let you know what happends..

Thanks
