New Receiver

Hi,

I just bought a brand new 2800 receiver (new in a box). I have tried to jtag it but jkeys doesn't detect it. I know my jtag is working as I have successfully jtaged my other receiver. Do I first have to put the receiver in the stream before I'm able to jtag this receiver? This wouldn't make sense because in order for the receiver to get updated in the stream, the card must be inserted in the receiver and I can't marry it to the receiver until I have the boxkeys.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does it power on when you plug it in? can you hook it up to a tv and see the "insert your smartcard screen?.

It powers up when I plug it in without me even having to turn it on myself. Anymore help would be appreciated.

Write any card with all zeros for the IRD number (virgin) that will get you to the menus.

But why can't I jtag it? Is it normal for jtags to not recognize receivers that are brand new (in a box)?

no thats not normal, my guess would be that you hooked up the jtag wrong or something like that. Double check the pinouts for your jtag with the receiver. Check the wires and make sure they are conducting, have a good connection and are in the correct places.

I have another 2800 with software version @ 854P which I'm able to jtag. Now, this brand new receiver that I bought, when I plugged in the receiver I went into system info. The location id is not 00000001. The software version is: 093P CAED-N.

Any ideas on how to make this receiver detect in jkeys?
