this is the same one i've been fighting for a week or so now. every day i try 3 or 4 times to flash a different tsop. is it possible to fry an 013 by flashing f'd up tsops to it? this is unbelievably frustrating. i have read what seems like everything on this issue. it sems fairly common, but mostly fixable with simple solutions. my build is DAHD and i'm going for the SatVia fix. haven't found my build but i've tried DAHA and everything else. virgin tsops. p50, p209, p341. virginizing eeproms every time. over at evo i even found a tsop that is SatVia ready, flash and play. no dice on that one either. gotta say for the first time ever i'm thinking of hiring out. any help on this issue would be sweet if anybody's got an idea.
the Sat Via fix is a no rsa mod.........the 301-13 needs a modded bin I believe...(I may be wrong)..... try the Tomico....

that is what was on it before. you are correct about the modded bin, but at this point i am just trying to get a green light.

There are a few things that can make the 301.013 not power up.
1. Bad tsop flash
2. R79 still shorted
3. bad vidmod
These are the non-fatal problems.
Check for solder splash somewhere, get a magnifying glass.
They are pretty reliable receivers and I've never had a problem.
Check the power supplies at SB30 (5.0 volts) and SB51 (3.3 volts)
Check your vidmod wiring.
Most problems occur due to solder splash under the jtag or around the vidmod.
You can flash the tsop thousands of times before it wears out.

i am getting 10.1 volts at SB30, and 6.4 volts at SB51. is double an indication of a problem? i'll pull the board out and look underneath for splash. thanks

i have read posts by some of the mods that wall would not be necessarily the best option for this application. have you used it for problems like this?

Prob a vid mod problem seen this a bunch....your tsop is fubbered.....you need to be able to erase full if you can get info from jkey's (any info) .....Jedtec or not recognized ect this is actually good. The vid mod can be very tricky if you have not done it much. The problem with the 301 is...............somwtimes you may think the tsop has been erased but really not or only partly erased. what I do is i wait till the jkey's screen say's to ground ird ect then I unplug power ground 79 turn (on) vid modd plug power back in as i'm also holding r79 ground to case screw or any ground point. then click the screen to get to erase screen then release the ground after in erase screen. Then erase full in jkey's with the vid modd (on) I only do it once or twice this 5 time's stuff is over-kill in IMHO.....then write tsop and eep I used flashedit beta 4 because there is other stuff in 9 that i heard automatically writes to tsop. All I wanted was the sk bypass. The info you get when you first power up and click on jkey's is the "ticket" it all depend's on the first info you see.Use jkey's 2.9.

i'm just gonna remove the vidmod and start over. from everyone's ideas and replies this seems to definately be user error. i guess i got lucky the first time when i put in tomico fix. i should have just left it but testing can be so f-ing sweet- when it works. guess i started to jones. what screwed me up is that the ird info was all displayed through jkeys every time, whatever tsop i applied. just wouldn't power up. gonna mess with it a bit more when i get a bit more time. thanks for everyone's help.
