With these firmware updates coming donw 3 a week they are planning and executing something sinister. There are wide spread reports of blackouts and missing channels already. Remember, always have the latest firmware version on your receiver though as if you don't and since the latest revs are enforced you will get black screen only. Please read www.bellexpress.vu/rev.html if you are unclear how to check.
Onto a different topic.
Skyhighelectronics - they were not shut down for importing clones, etc. Not connected to any black market stuff. Shut down for "knowingly selling satellite equipment that could be used for signal theft and was primarily advertised as such even though the said equipment was not intended for such use by the manufacturer". I think what they are saying is this: you can sell FTA equipment as long as you don't advertise on pirate sites and or give any impression that the equipment can be used for piracy. Same logic behind shutting down Napster: file
sharing is okay, as long as everyone is not using the service to do something illegal.

Well put all these events together:
1, Major raids to take out dealers and manufacturers to dry up supply lines
2, TSOP update galore
3, Going after FTA dealers as a possibility who advertise on pirate forums

This is how military campaighs are conducted. Cut off an army from supplies then go after them. I think we will see DishNet finally on the offensive, expect ECMs shortly.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Charlie adopting some of the underhanded tactics employed by Dave in the past too. We're over due for a nasty ECM(S) for sure, but I bet it's gonna go deeper as well.

I agree especially as Neusat is coming out with an 8000 model FTA in May which supports HD.

So I guess that the Rom 101 has been wiped out then. The old saying is that dishnet could not ECM because of the Rom 101. How true that is I dont know.

I think most if not all of the dish upgrades are to get them set for sat 10 and all the locals being moved as per the FCC. If you are getting missing channels, black screen etc, ck that you have the most current FW on your ird.

I have noticed that once the ird has taken a dish update the software is noted as commercial and preceeded by an X . My 2800 went from 834p to X854p. I wonder if this is just being applied to modded ird's or does anyone know if paid subscribers also have the X marked software.

thanks---ollie

the x means you have a commercial tier..like soccer or probably some other sports thing.

2.02 was working good but lost video and audio every 1 to 2 hours and had to always reset receiver to get picture back.

Was excited to see 2.03 came out, was hoping it would solve this problem, but it hasn't.

Can anyone help me? Is it the tiers? I was told the bottom and top should have all 0000's, is that true? Haven't tried it yet.

Firmware: 854PC

Thanks!
