i already have two receivers hooked up to my twin lnb. i was just wondering if there is a way of taking one of the incoming feeds and splitting it to hook up and third receiver somewhere else. what special equipment do i need to do this is if it is at all possible.
Can't split the signal before the receiver. You could add another dish or get a quad lnb is about your only option it sounds.

Won't work long.......why do you think they make the fancy switches??(DP34 et al.) Cause you can't just split a sat feed...that's why.
The receiver controls the lnb, 2 receivers can't control one lnb feed.

I split the signal after the box. I used a 2 way splitter.
Line out of the box to splitter
1 line from splinter to first tv and 2nd line to another tv.
The only thing is on the 2nd tv you have to watch what is being played on the first tv.
I had this set up for my wife in the craft room, we bought a remote control extender and she can change the channel from her craft room.

You can use and SW-21 switch (or simular) that has the 18v and 13v inputs from dual lnb ( eagle apsen) and has 4 output for receivers. Most sat dealers carry these for installs with multi receivers.
Hope that helps...

I'm using a DP34 Switch to do just that. There may be other ways to do it, but I am viewing three satellites also. If you are just using two satellites then I am sure there are cheaper switches you can use.
Multi-switch 3X4 = $55.00 or about that anyway!
