I just received my brand new modded Blue Nexus Unlocker from Mili's shop, and I can't seem to get it to work.
At first, when I tried to flash it, it told me it Could Not Find Active Atmel. I switched things around, read some more, and it continued to give me the same message. I read some more, and when I came back to try it again, it told me Unknown COM port.
Any ideas?

If you're using XPAtmel, when you double click on the flash(atmel 1.31) you are using a box should come up on the screen.Near the bottom is a dropdown for COM ports. It should be either COM1 or COM2

Sounds like your having the same problem I had at first......Get yourself a new serial cable I bought one at RS and its working fine now.

Thanks for the advice, firstklass, I was afraid that was the problem.

Well, I went to Radio Shack and paid $15 for a new cable, and I have gotten the same result: Unknown COM port. I'm keeping the cable so I'll have a 'known good' to try.
I tried switching the COM port settings with no luck. I tried specifying specifically how I wanted this COM port to behave (rather than AUTO) with no luck. I went to a different computer (the only one where I can do my AVR-X stuff-- which works great, thanks) and had no better luck.
Could it be that I have a defective Nexus unit? Please advise. :)

Switches 1 & 6 have been down all along. Plus I have the Radio Shack power supply which puts out a steady 9.14v when set on the 9 volt setting.
I am completely at a loss here. I went through Black Sunday on DirecTV and have been active since that time, and I can't get this box to work.
Should I write directly to Mili? (mili@dssmili.com)

You sure you got a stright through cable and not a null modem cable?

firstklass:
The light on the box stays steady, yes.
vmod32:
I made sure the new one I bought was not. The previous cable was used back in HU loader times and supposedly was not a null-modem cable.
is comm port enabled in bios and or sys properties on the device manger

Well, I ended up returning the product to Mili. He tested it out and it works perfectly.
Mili is now returning my Unlocker to me for the traditional fee. Mili rocks!
I guess I'll have to delve deeper-- or maybe it'll just work when I get it!
