I just installed my new dish, and I cannot get my 3100-010 with P2.47 firmware, and avr-x 2.03 to recognize my SW-21 switch. I tried another switch, and same, no switch. When I hook up directly to one of my two twin lnb's (119 or 110) both individually work perfect. I get about 70-80% signal on each. Any idea what I can try?

I have the same problem Spanky2. Just put up a dish500 yesterday and get nothing when hooked up to a SW-21 but works fine hooked directly to the lnb. Hope someone can help us.

hmm could be the cables. are they the proper guages? the cheap tv types really suck if you are using a lenghly cable also how long are the cables after the sw 21 to the LNB's?, even with the switch not reconized your signal should be good no matter what sat you select. if not then i would check the center cable lenghts that plug into the switch as the switchs are water proof and have that rubber seal the center pin must pass though then make contact inside the switch, if the cable is to short then you will not detect a switch or any signal with the switch connected (sorry if im loosing ya here) basically if with the switch connected and you get a signal but not detecting the actual switch then thats usually caused by bad cable guage and/or lenghts. with brand new sat cable you can run 75 feet from the IRD to the switch then say about 6 or 10 feet after the switch to each LNB.
so i would check your cables bud, rather the center copper is too short or the cables are wrong, also on the switch i connect sat 110 to "1" and 11 to "2", and dont forget to run "TEST SWITCH" very important. hopefully i covered everything enought for ya to find your problem, if not then let us know about your cables, lenghts, etc and if you get a signal with the switch connected at all even tho the IRD dosent detect it.

I'm running 100' RG6 + 20' of regular coax, two 6' RG6 from LNB to switch. with the switch hooked up, I don't get a signal nor the test picks it up. My LNB's each have two connections. Does it matter which one it should be connected to?
I will check the center cable pin.
Couple days ago, I hooked up the two cables to the switch and everything worked for a little!

LNB's: I think they are twin, I might have the term wrong. I have two LNB's and each have two connections. I am connected to one of each. And yes I tried two SW-21 dish network model switches.

Most Dish Twin legacy lnb's already have the sw21 switch. The DN Twin has a plastic cowl covering both lnb's.

I have a similar problem. But my switch is only detecting that I am connected to 1 of the LNB's. I left 1 of the lnb's (110) connected to the switch and I detected the switch and the LNB. I hooked up the switch to the other LNB (119) and disconected 110 and it was able to detect 119 without a problem. When I connect them both up it states I only have 110.
If by some chance I get the switch to show 119 with both of them connected, I pops up with a msg saying that my switch is not connected properly and to check it. If I power off my 310 then back on it will only show the 110 and I'll get the 110 channels.
I tried changing which LNB is connected to input 1 & 2 and I get the same results.

I am having the same symptoms on my 4900. What is strange though is my 6000 sees both sats just fine.
This is weird and annoying. I will try to reprogram my avr-x to see if the problem clears up after doing that..

I finally got it to work perfectly...
First I thought that perhaps having my receiver approx. 200' away was too long, and that the switch was lowering my signal too much. So I tried it with only 20' of RG6 from the switch to the receiver. It worked for about 2 min. Then I installed a new switch, and it works perfect. Infact, I get better signal with 200' of brand new RG6 then I did with 20' of brand new RG6!
So my problem was that the first two "used" switches I tried were no good. I bought a brand new DigiWave SW-21. Instantly, everthing worked.

I have the same problem with a 3100 receiver atmega 128 ( dont worry your switch SW21 is fine dont touch anything) i found a solution for now works great for me its simple just unplug your satellite signal cable behind your receiver then take atmega card out for 10 sec plug the wire back in reload everything on your atmega everything should be fine:D
