The above reciever was working fine up until a few days ago. It had a modded bin (P209) with a rom102to10 card. when I do a check switch it recognizes the switch but there is no signal (XX Polarity)I noticed that tit would search for signal every so often but it would eventually resume reception. It got progressively worse until a few days ago where it lost signal completely. I have another reciever running off the same DP lnb. when I switched them, the other reciever worked fine on the suspect line. the problematic receiver would not work on the known good line.

so I'm thinking that my tsop/eeprom is corrupt. I reprogrammed it with the previous bins which were working with the problematic receiverbefore these problems started. now the bins wont correct the problem. I put a voltage tester to the coax port and ran a check switch. the voltage alternated between 13.5 & 19 volts DC (this is a $170 Fluke tester, so I know it's accurate).

I'm at my wit's end. Is the reciever bad, even though I'm getting, what I think are accurate, voltage readings? can anyone offer some suggestions?

Thanks.

i have a poor man's dish 500 setup using an sw21 switch and it works fine. But im also trying to hookup a superdish 105 with a dp34. when i hook that up i get the same as you with the XX's. i am also at p209 firmware. i think we are gonna have to upgrade to p324 or whatever the latest is. cause i cant get some signal on the superdish adn someone told me to upgrade for it to work correctly

not hijacking you at all, but i do have a few 3900's doing the same bit with the old tomico fix. strange too. it'll be fine, then just lose signal. would do a checkswitch test, xx on one bird. i'll pull the card out(atmega) and reinsert, it'll aquire signal and then it's fine. i thought it was either a reciever prob or chuck's up to no good.
