Alright, I got tired of losing channels and the check switch nag, so I decided to finally upgrade to a No RSA mod - I've had nothing but black screens since. I've tried Atmega Studio 2.3, TCFDIII, the P341 TSOP in the bank and I even tried modding my own original TSOP from when I got the unit (It started service at P058) and letting it upgrade. No dice with any method. I did discover that my FlashEdit 2.1 Beta 9 would not hold a correct CRC - no matter how many different times I saved the TSOP or what name I gave it, it would always revert back to being correct. I was able to use FlashEdit 2.0a2 to correct that problem though. However, I can't get past the black screens to save my life. Anyone here got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Same situation here. Even tried a bunch of different tsops to no avail.

Checked, double checked and triple checked IRD #'s and boxkeys. All good.

In the downloads area, modded TSOP files, there's a couple that Skinerd put up that have everything you need to do a NoRSA mod on ANY build 301-013 single. No need to worry about your build, no worry to worry about SK bypasses, no worry about doing something wrong in FlashEdit. It's all in the file.

Just flash your TSOP, then write the virgin eeprom. That's it.

As for your card, I've literally tried every PFG on the net in an attempt to get one that works correctly. They're all similar, but in the end, the only one I've had 100 percent success with is Darlok's V6.

I've gotten no less than 10 people up and running with their 13 singles, this flash and this PFG - in the last week. Remember this - lots of PFG's out there do NOT have the capability of running two keys simultaneously, creating black screens on many channels. BusRC V3, Tandq.org V4 are a couple of examples. You need one of the newer programs.

Personally, I think EVERYBODY should convert to NoRSA programming. It's no more complicated, takes little time and offers some important advantages. If you load your receiver and card with these programs I just mentioned and you still have a black screen, you have a hardware failure or you didn't do it right, period. The programs work - at least for the moment.

Which ones are the correct files? None of them are labeled with names or anything like that...

My experiences:
1. the only TSOP I had luck with was the virgin P341 from public downloads.
Modify the box and ird# - LEAVE THE BUILD ALONE.
Fix the CRC.
Apply bypass SK script.
Save tsop and eeprom. write to IRD.
CRCwill never be right after you applied that script.

2. Use TCFD III for the ATMEGA NO RSA PFG.
Just make sure you update the program, keys and ppv string in the configuration.
This way you can customize tiers and all that jazz.

Forget updating the firmware through streaming or erasing sectors. I never managed to accomplish this with my no_rsa mod.
I am up and running a solid week now without any problems.
I have only a few Pirate TV channels but that is because authorization strings in TCFD are incorrect.
cheers.

Try this one....File Downloads, TSOPS-Modified section, download the file "P341.zip". It was file #10 the last time I looked.

As for Darlok V6, I didn't see it posted. Try at Rom10X, Atmega Files section. It's there.

I sem to have a problem with FlashEdit 2.1 beta 9, among other things. Whatever bin I run through it seems to get the keys and IRD # switched back to all FF's no matter what scrips I've run on it (The one posted above and others). Is anyone else having this trouble? The CRC won't stay correct either (dropping back to 2.0 a2 seems to solve that, but then I can't run a script with that version). I notice also tht my version of FlashEdit Beta 9 doesn't save personal/private files anymore - did that get taken out since everyone was using the same thing anyway?

I have Darlok V6 from another source as well.

Alright, I tried the P341 flash - changed IRD# and box keys as needed. No picture using TCFDIII, ATNS2.3, or Darlok V6. Anyone have any other ideas? I'm out.

Hey Twostep. What do you mean by writing a virgin eeprom? Write it where.
I know it sounds like a "please hold my hand" question, but I didn't have to do any eeprom stuff with Tomico's modded TSOP and Eeprom flashes way back. I downloaded the p341 zip file you mentioned, and all it contains is the TSOP flash. Maybe you can PM me the step by step instructions. I would really appreciate it, or post it for others struggling like myself. Thanks in advance.

A good question, and my apologies for not clarifying...:)

It's not mandatory to write a virgin eeprom...but I've always felt it to be a good idea when you're making major changes to your receiver. That way, you dump any and all old parameters and start with a clean slate. Again, it may not make a difference - it's just a bit of insurance; one less source of potential problems.

You write a new eeprom flash right in JKeys, from the same screen that you write your flash from. It's a small file, 8K, only takes 30 seconds. No need to erase the old one; just overwrite it.

Doesn't appear as if you saved your original eeprom flash, so go to the TSOP bank (TSOPS-UNmodded) and grab one for your particular receiver. You'll need to know the build, unless it's a 301.013 (build makes no difference) It's quick, easy.

If you'd rather not bother, then just go ahead with the flash itself. You can't hurt anything - if you have problems you can always go back and install the EEprom flash.

Thanks for the reply. I did save my original eeprom flash from way back.
So it's OK to use the P341zip TSOP with my original eeprom? I did use the P341zip TSOP with some other eeprom for another 301-013 (which is what I have), and my IRD is not going past 2 of 5 for satellite signal, then starts turning off and on w/black screen. I also noticed that the P341zip says R00 2334 5698 and Darlocks pfg for Tomico Rom 10-102 shows R00 2324 5698. I don't know if that's a typo or what? Maybe that's the whole problem? Did you let the IRD sit with no sat cable attached for a few minutes like Tomico's fix was done? Any advice on how you exactly did it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Using your original eeprom should work just fine. The only thing you're changing is in the TSOP flash - the IRD number and boxkeys...and in the case of the 301.013 single, the sessions key bypass. That should all be in the file you downloaded, if I'm reading it correctly.

"2324" is the correct number. One way to know for sure...when your acq sat screen appears, just read the IRD number and see.

I used to do the leave-the-cable-off-for-3-minutes thing until I grew weary of it...and have never had a problem just hooking it up to begin with.

The current firmware update is P342...not that it should matter, with the NoRSA mod. Mine works on 209 and up.

i just did the sativia mod on a 301.010 . being a old reciever , i thought i didn't need to flash the eeprom ( software build number was 128 ... very very old ) .

anyways i had to flash a virginised eeprom to the reciever . here's how .

open flash edit , where it says model number set it too your recievers model number ( in my case it was dp301.010 /3100)

load up the tsop(s) you previously modded for your reciever . i clicked advanced , but i don't think you need to do this .

then where it says model number change it too eeprom .
click open ,
then click save as

now you have a virginised tsop to flash into your reciever . and you should be good to go .

I finally got my 301-013 going with #7 in the modded TSOP section. The P341zip just didn't work no matter what eeprom flash I used. I also used #2 for my 3100, and got it going too. I used Darlock's all in one for both. I did the 3 minute thing, for old times sake...laugh...all I know is that I'm watching TV without that switch error message coming up. Thanks for your advice Twostep.
One last question. Can I now take updates without screwing the whole thing up? My firmware is at P341, and I see that a new P342 is available. Thanks again!

It's there in the files section under a different name, because I tried to upload Darlok's V6 for you, and it said that the file already exists. If anyone knows which one it is, let jmf38 know. Thanks.

A search couldn't find it, but it's in the Atmega Files section at xxx.rom10x.com .

I've recently tried the TCFD III program, and prefer it to all. Being able to roll your own tiers to prevent overloading (which is an Atmega problem) is really nice. Stops all the missing channels issues.
