Finaly EchoStar X comes to life


Since 1:00 AM (Central Time) Echo X came to live and started working.

Here are few changes

The first channel which will move will be Chattanooga, TN channel WCLP.

Also moving tonight will be the following...

Knoxville, TN
Las Vegas, NV
Mobile-Pensacola AL-FL (Which will be moving from 105 to 110)
Springfield, MO

Tommorow the following will be moving...

Flint-Saginaw, MI (Moving from 121 to 110)

Ok so now you are sitting there thinking wow more channels...wrong lol.

For those who have 121 or 105 and like the locals dont rush to tear down the dishes....

All the locals being moved will be mostly spotbeamed...

what is a spotbeam you ask?
that means it only gets broadcasted to a certain area...no longer able to get texas locals from florida...and so forth.

In short term you will have access to less channels than before....let the crying begin lol.

from what i understand , if your near the edge of a spot beam it might be possible to pick it up by using a much larger dish .

Is it possible for all channels to be moved to spot beams on Echostar x and shut everyone down? In other words is x viewable?

Probably for some of us does not matter, the moving channels are locals; and to watch them some will need larger dishes!!!

this blows, my sub will not get orlando locals from 200 miles away any more

says no signal as of today 4/25/06

They are working here now. They have been coming and going the last week or so though.

finally found where to post fta question!... 1. does fta allow to get premium , porn, ppv channels? 2. is there a guide? if not how do u know what s coming on where?
3.how many channels will i get? i know it aint easy, but is it easiest way to test?
