Not working for me yet, need help.

Well I programmed my card following the instruction for married sub or ex/sub and all i get are the free channels, all the other channel i get " the current cards is not authorized to view or purchase this program etc etc etc." My big assumption was that as long as I knew the IRD box numbers I could use any rom 102 card with the IRD and boxkeys written on them. Don't know if that is correct but I can't think why that wouln't work. Does anyone know? I really do not want to mess with the Tsop. Oh, by the way, the receiver is a 508 that was working with an AVR-X board.

the card has to be the one that was subbed in that ird. If you don't have that combo, use the private bin that comes with the romcode software, and write the IRD and BOXKEYS they provide at the time of programing to your IRD. there might be other options, but this one is the most straight forward.

Since it is a 508, you will be stuck having to remarry the hard drive too. :( and that is a big pain in the a$$ if you are not used to doing it. Not really that hard once you get used to it. Thing is, you don't have to pull the drive and zero it. You can just use the virgin tsop to marry it, then put your old tsop back with the private numbers. search the forums if you need help.

Using the private bin's boxkeys and ird# does not make it a modded tsop, it only makes it a clone and as long as they don't blacklist those numbers, you can take updates no problem.

Thanks Ohms, do you happen to why it has to be married ex-sub, I thought that having the IRD # and Boxkeys is what made it married. Yea i've done the Tsop thing before and it is a little pain but if I don't have a choice i'll have to do it since i've spent $100.00 on the Romcode program.

With a legit sub, the card "marries" to the ird and they become a match pair. With all the great advances the smart guys have made on N2, they still have not figured out how to marry a card to a box.

Once you have a married card from either a current or ex sub, you are golden because the card has EVERYTHING you need already on it. You don't have to touch the TSOP because the encryption, ird#, Box Keys all match up. What I mean, is it matches the IRD so the encryption handshake can complete.

I am not one of the smart guys so that's about as deep as I'm willing to go with it here. I do know a little bit more, but am not sure of myself and don't want to be corrected by the smart guys in front of everybody. :)

i just bought a open, unlocked, virgin, card w. valid atr...it obviously will not be married to my ird, b/c i had my ird, and bought card...is this going to make it harder for me to get card up? why or why not?

the only dif will be you will need to put the romcode ird# and bk onto your ird.

Re-program card and in settings select "death wish". It will roll fine that way.

Would it be safe enough with RomCode Primium support?? I mean, does mili private rom code will not let it loop the card? Does any one have used death wish on Rom102 card and it didn't get looped?

I have used that setting since it became available. This is testing however and there are no guarantees: you never know. It is also possible that Dish knows more about the card than anyone else and what we think is 100% safe may not be.

Bottom line: this is testing!

I'll wait for a 100% safe autoroll no matter how long it takes. It's only 5 feet from my computer to the box and the keys haven't been changing much at all lately. If i had a spare card i might risk deathwish but only if the keys were changing on the hour. Plastic is pricy these days.

As stated in #15 above: I have used it since it has been offered. That is maybe 6 weeks. They have not attacked it. I am willing to gamble.

I am new to romcode too. i just did it my self it's easy to change the box ird info. all you need to do is jtag it save the flash one & flast two, using flashedit open it and change the box info which you recived from private bin . save it - you should see two files for example R00xxxu22 & R00xxu23. now full flash using jtag, load the u23 bin using jtag or wall. when it finished check the box key using jtag. now just unplug it = connect to stream wait 15 min it will update. now put your card wait 5 min, all open.
