Question about 102 and boxkeys

I am a little confused and can't find the answer. Some of these fixes have a text file telling you the IRD and boxkeys and some don't. I was up and running using Rom10toRom102_wide_open_3M_no_mod_with_lots_of_loc als_&_blocker and of course it went down but when I clean the card and patch it with the new fix it says card invalid for this receiver. Ok, so from what I remember years ago that means wrong ird and or boxkeys. How do I change these, what are the locations that I would edit the ird / boxkeys?

I did a search through the hex and found it at I think D910 or so and some references that looked like the IRD in hex and even backwards.

I have been out of the game for a while, over a year now so I am trying to play catchup here. Can someone tell me where the locations are to edit for the ird / boxkeys or if that isn't the answer.

And please no links to newbie guides or any shit like that. I have been doing a lot of research on here and I find so many posts of people just bashing someone who is asking a question.

you want to use the numbers on the read me file ON THE IRD, not the other way around.
dont try to change the 3m or patches just run them as is or edit locals and blackout strings.
the changes need to be made on the ird. using flashedit and a jtag to your ird.
the new fix you speak of must have been for another file.
find a rom10to102 file and check the read me and change the numbers on ird, or find one that already has the numbers your going to use.
maybe your ird took a update.
this last time I opened my rom 10to102 bin and then patched it with the new lkeys and saved the image then wrote that file to a clean card.


your right people do get bashed for asking simple questions.

we like to help but also "we eat our own" when we feel like the person did not even try to look. since you acknowledged that you get a pass lol......your answer has been posted a few times already.

well, thanks for the response, I had the right idea then it just isn't working. The part that confuses me is some of the files out there have no readme file and the sticky posted says just as you said to clean the card and write the patch. Doesn't that mean the patch has the boxkeys in it? if so how do you find out what they are?

thanks again for the help. This is frustrating because I have been working on this stuff since dr7 days and I understand it but I take a little time off and ouch, it flys by me real quick. I am reminded of when I had to go from vb6 to .NET, frustrating at first but easy in the end. thanks again

what file? maybe somebody knows
when applying patch it has to be applied to a clean image and usually the patch tells the numbers.
for example:

yes, I found it last night and forgot to post, but thank you, the problem was I didn't see they said from the original 102to10 so I grabbed that, looked at the readme and sure enough the card is recognized but still no video. At least on the 4700, I have yet to try it on a 301 but I will here soon. The 4700 didn't work with old firmware or the newer, I let it update, I'll have to make sure it is the latest but if it is I am at a loss. Perfect guide, free channels work, just black screen. I'm going to search around a bit.

ok, for anyone who may be interested or experiencing similar problems here is how I got it.

I could not get a picture when using the original rom102to10. I could get the guide, the boxkeys matched so no error there, latest idea key, etc. My guess is something wrong with dates or such but anyway I couldn't get it to work.

I finally got the bright idea to try the D2C on the last bin I could get to work thinking it was similar code. The bin I could get to work before was DssBbs Rom10toRom102 wide open 3M no mod with lots of locals.bn10. That didn't take the D2C so I thought maybe I could load the bin into nagraedit and patch the keys myself before writing it to the card and finally that worked.

Anyway, if anyone else is experiencing similar problems just download that bin from the downloads, open it up in nagraedit patch it with the following and write. Also make sure boxkeys and such are set correctly on receiver to match that bin.

yes and no, I had the right keys with the other 102to10 it just wasn't working, I try it with a different 102to10 and it works. There was something else I was missing on the other one.
