I think I've figured out how to get my 2700 that had Bev on N1 (supplied by someone else - I'm learning now) to Dish N2. Have Atmega card.

Question #1: I'm told I won't have ECM problems, I believe this was said because I had a blocker installed previously for Bev. Can someone explain to me so I'm sure and don't blow it. Is the blocker a hardware thing that is good for any signal source? Is it s/w that will be installed by JTAG/jkeys or Jeepers? How can I be sure I'm blocked for present and any future electronic countermeasures?

Quest #2: Will this thing autoroll when I'm up and running or will I have to input new keys from time to time? If the latter, how often do you have to update to new keys?

Quest #3: burnt_servo told me he recalled the 2700 had to be flashed with a Dish 2800 TSOP first, as the 2700 TSOP wouldn't work. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Much thanks.

1. Atmega doesn't use (need) a blocker (or lock) right now, that's for plastic like Rom cards
2. doesn't autroll yet though people are working on it
3. dunno

Much appreciated.

How often does one have to input new keys?

And where do you get the keys?

And is it done by hand with the remote or do you have to attach the Atmega to the computer?

Thanks again.

NOt hard at all to add new keys, I just manually put them in w/Jeepers. There are other faster ways to do it too. EVery site posts the keys, usually very fast.
Dish has changed the keys a couple of times in the last few weeks but before that it was months.
yea you have to program the atmega with your computer, with a cable that goes to the Atmega prorgrammer (to which you attach your card).
Again, not hard at all
