1, Make sure your firmware is up to date (it is the softwre version on the sys info screen of the reciever)
Dish is enforcing updates and blacks out receivers that do not have the latest.

2, Make sure you are using the latest keys on not autorolling platforms, right now:

3, If you are using an AVR-X card do not add solder to the pads, if bad connection then use an eraser to clean the contacts and a business card ABOVE the AVR-X to make better contact with the card slot.

Solder is the only durable way to repair the problem, IMHO!

Use your remote and hit menu, 6, 3 and you will get your system information.

For firmware information go here:

I'm sending emm cmd 90 00 for key change packets. Looking at other emm's also. I can only seem to make out key change packets. I think I'm headed for cc to get a little better grip on this unless someone here can help.
