This mesage is for all the truely tweekier FTA members out there.
As you know, Linux is an alturnative OS, free to download and distribute.

So, this is a Linux "Myth TV" update. The latest release of "GeexBox" (Geek Box) is available on Distrowatch, Sourceforge and other sites. GeexBox is a simple "Stand Alone Media player", that uses it's own 8MB, 2.6.16 Linux Kernel distrabution, for it's OS. To produce a "Live CD" capable of running it's programs, without modification to existing files on a computer.

It's offered as a "Free ISO" download, that with modification, (available from the GeexBox's Home page (via WiKi, Forums & Links)), can support several type DVB-S-T-C, PCI and USB based devices.
Which also includes LIRC support, and capablity for broadcast via Lan or WiFi.
All after modification and remastering the CD.

It's system requirement are modist, offering small ram footprint and low CPU loding, a 400Mhz Celeron, with at least 64MB of ram, should work fine, to revive many computers gathering dust in closets.

It does not support encryption (like Nagar), "yet". So, for now it's truly FTA. And for most, there a learning curve to deal with, in understanding the different OS. But, my own experence says, it's no worse than learning Windows, or Mac.
