Iam running dish on a 3000 IRD , doing Emulation I believe ROm102. It has been asking to update for a while , and i say no, its running software version 836, and it seems that there is a newer one to go , however, if i update i loose the Mod for the TSOP file,
I have no idea how to redo it after it will update , so is there a tutorial, or a way for me to figure it out .
sincerely
what kinfd of mod? RSA mod. if so yep you are correct you will loose it.
if you only changed box keys and ird# then it is ok.
you can watch it as long as you can if you dont want to upgrade. may last a week or a month who know?

sure . i think i have an idea what might happen, so how about moding the TSOP file for my 3000 after it upgrades.
what are the steps, and how to do it from scratch .
peace
who modded it to start with is best bet.
3000 is a whole norther creature.
I think it is a member named smurftoon search for post made by him maybe will help. He knew grey boxes pretty good. A few others have corrected me on them before too so be sure your search is going back a few months to what you need if you want to do it yourself if possible.

You need a f040, I have two grey boxes I would love to put back in action
but I dont have a f040, toprogram the tsop
if there is a schmatic of one Ican build it.
I liked my grey boxes they were cool.

First off, I dont know crap about a 3000, so take this for what it is worth - nothing. If your IRD# is 02AB4761, might be able to use this. Doubt if you can find a real fs script for a 3000. This is taken from the atmega fs scripts, but since I have no idea what the offset is for a 3000, it is the best I know . If it wont work as fs script in flashedit9, just use a hex editor. Find the numbers that you want to replace, then replace them with the numbers after the , (comma) minus the 0x. That is, replace A4 with D9 etc. I`m just guessing at what you are using, so this may be waaaaay off, but might get you started in the right direction. Just save your TSOP so you can get back to where you are now if things don`t work. Good luck!!

If I have a TSOP file works for the Atmega for the 3000 . how can i tell what has been changed in it .? and where do i look for that .? and what program i use to find all these infos.
Then i can open up the updated TSOP file and make same changes as the older one, do you feel this method might work.
Peace
