I have a 6000 which I'M trying to reflash but I can't enter flash program for some reason I get messege: error clearing trap handler work space, could not initiate access. I've tried grounding R286 closest to chip grounded pad 1 and no luck, I can read IRD and BOX#s just fine does anyone know of a better way to do this.

copy virgin eeprom first

To flash tsops Always create a “virgin eeprom” and load in in PRIOR to attempting to erase any tsop. ALWAYS start by saving virgin eeprom file. If not you won’t be able to erase tsops.

good luck

I wish I had known that before I tried to erase tsops now I can't even read EEPROM, I get same error and to make things worse my IRD is now dead after grounding R286 the light doesn't come on.

reboot it IRD and computer
do the 286 thing like you are and also ground your jtag to the case or one of the ground pads on the board. I used a ohm meter and found the ground pad in the line I want to say it is the second pad but not sure and I came out of that errer no problem
then do like he says and read the eprom

do not fear you can fix this.

first use a buffered jtag. and try again to write just the eeprom .

unplug for ten minutes and than restream. at least 24 hours.

again try to write eeprom you may have luck. i did !

6000 are kinda finiky but when you get them going they have a good picture

thanks for the help guys, I grounded R286 to go to BFL mode and was able to reprogrammed tsops and eeprom, but now I have a problem my IRD seems to be stucked on sleepy (BFL) mode I can read new #s just fine but it wont power up.
