just reading through the various posts , and thinking to myself about the atmega , avrx , converted magic cards ect..... ( emulation would kind of fit into this too , in a twisted sort of way ) .

the cards emulate "plastic " but the latest ecm makes that image of plastic too large to fit into the available memory of the cards and be workable .

so if someone was to do a memory " upgrade " , or release a new card with more than enough memory , in the exact same postions as the rom 102 , so the resulting encription going in , and coming out of the card would be the same , we'd be back in business. and the creator of the card would make a pile of money .....

software emulation would be simalar , but it would have to perfectly emulate the rom 102 .

i'd also imagine that if this was figured out , that fta would be able to do something similar , or maybe fta will figure it out first and lead the way .

persoanlly i'd think it would be funny if someone figured out how to make the old atmega work again ....... how many times has it been declared "dead " only to come back ......

btw if your going to try to flame me , don't bother posting .

i wouldn't give up on them yet , you can still get most of the channels with dishnet , i'm not sure about bev ( i haven't finished setting up a reciver for bev ) .

a person might get a few more months of use out of an atemga .... then again it might be shut down next week .
