Crap. I just got back from a weeks vacation and was looking forward to relaxing with some TV. I was on a cruise that stopped in the Bahama's and I guess now I know why Milli didn't stop by the beach for a visit. Looks like he is really busy.
I've read a bunch and underdstand that PPV channels are all black screens. However, I've got another problem that I'm hoping someone can help with.
I unplugged the receiver for a few seconds to arrange some power cords. When I turned it on I did a check switch. It showed 110 even as not found and a error msg in the check switch screen. I then unplugged the receiver for 15 minutes and updated the keys on my Atmega. I plugged receiver back in, installed the card and did a check switch. Everything looks good. The card gets the guide and displays some channels. I did see some HBO as well when quickly checking channels. I believe all the FW versions are correct.
What I don't understand is I keep getting error 2 whenever I start surfing through the channels that are not PPV or Porn. The error text on the screen is something like...."The Satellite signal has been lost. Signal acquisition in progress. Please wait or press the up / down arrow button to change channels ... Channel 312, Sat 119, Transponder 17".
Sometimes the error msg pops-up and then goes away and I see the channel other times this is all I get and the channel never shows up. If I hit the menu button and get to the signal screen it shows 0% signal for Sat 119 / Trans 17. Other transponders have 98% signal. If I hit the info / help button then I get a long message about the signal being lost.
What I need help understanding is did I develop a hardware problem in the last week or is this Error 2 somehow connected to the issues associated with PPV going black?
