dp811,good for?

Since I hijacked another thread,I will correct my error and start my own.I purchased DP 811 from Milli's store and I am now told that it cannot be used for testing,guess I should have read more before buying,but what is it good for then,just subbing to dishnet? If that is the case,can it be subbed to bell and I can convert my b3v 6000 to use for to dish*** and buy an open rom 102 and test dish*** that way? I really hope I did not buy an expensive paper weight,like my Coolsat 5000,lol.

Choices:
1) Get Passive Interface Card, programmer, and unlocker, and go to work.
2) Do modifications on receiver, use Rom 102 card in receiver.
3) Sell receiver.

A how-to that is correct would be nice...one in the files section has lines & bytes that don't exist..

Why can't it be used for testing??

Mili suggested to use his sub with my 811's. In the long run that may be a better option from what I presume is involved in installing a pic for some novices. Its very easy to burn the pc board if you dont have a lot of soldering experience.

Figured out programming....
DP311_811_blocker.zip in files section
Follow instructions in files, only when you get to the second part(in Hex editor) concerning 2D00 instead look at line 2CF4==byte 0C00 that is where you left click(just left of 0C00) then right click then click paste.
Then apply v28 blocker save image write to card check lock watch tv..
This is if you have already been using before 768enc..

If just received then you need to follow files section & stream with v22 blocker & let update==then unlock & follow above directions

If you bought from Mili there is no soldering...
just programming

I need to install a PIC I think? Unless theres some other way?
The only picture I have seen of a pic looked a little hairy and I have not seen any written tutorial anywhere for the 811. I guess I need to wait for ROM10X to get set up in their new digs and check out what they have to offer.

hI I HAVE RE-PROGRAMMED my 311 using the 28e file for 311's and 811's in file section but all i get is a black screen even after 30minutes im sure it has to do with the blocker any help
