Ugh....saved my current flash, erased flash and reprogrammed in Jkeys. Now I've got two dead 2800's that won't power on. But I can read the memory using Jkeys. PLEASE, someone give me some advice....I'm really bummed out and followed all instructions to the t. I tried Wall, but have no idea what the heck to do.

The Powering up of a receiver is the EPROM's job....Make sure that you use a good virgin EPROM that matches your flash... You should never have a problem powering up a 2800..

So now I also flashed with a virgin eeprom that matches the first 3 letters of my build config. Still no power, but I can read the memory thru jkeys. Any other ideas, please?

That isn't good enough the EPROM MUST match the build config of in your flash. If not the same it will not work

Open your flash in Flashedit and build your self a vergin EPROM that matches your flash. this is the only way to get it to work

OK, I opened Flashedit, opened my flash, and created a virgin eeprom. Now, do i need to erase the flash, rewrite flash, then program eeprom? What steps should I take now that I have a virgin eeprom ready to go?

Now you you will have to erace and rewrite the new EPROM only back
to your reciever..

Jkeys only option is to program eeprom (I don't see an option to erase it).

What is the build number marked on your main board. You are going to have to start all over with a tsop that matches your board exactly. If I had your number I will find a tsop that will work for you...

If it won't run, put your last working flashes back on it & work from there. Your better off editting your working flashes than trying something you downloaded anyways.

Well I've got my original saved flash. Guess I'll try creating a virgin eeprom with that, then reloading it all again. I'll post back in a bit.

No go. Time to get some sleep and come back to it in the morning. My build is CBFA.

No need for Wall if it still writes ok. Wall is for dead 3100s.

I've got Walls. How do you use it? Should I just program the Eeprom or the Flash with it? When I open it while connected to the jtag, it says something like "warning" ID not correct".

thats what my ird stated I thought that was the reson for ird not booting up messed up flash some how. Keep retrying till you get good read in jkeys. Program full orginal eprom in walls. I think that is the answer you were looking for . Oh yeah crazy congrats on your new position.

Well, after reading the "how to" for the 69th time, I realized something. I would plug the ird into the ac outlet, then connect the jtag. But the how to says never connect a cable while the ird is plugged in. So maybe i fried the ird's?

Hey, rocky i read over and couldnt see if you sated this do you have tsop locks installed? i only ask becasue i had a simaler problem and the bin i wrote origanaly before the tsop lock was the wrong bootloader and it gave me a ton of problems, if you have a lock try taking the power completly off and resoldering.... then use jkeys to read the build, bootstrapt to see if there are invalid characters like Z### stuff like tha, and also i mave be wrong but ive never fried any recivers by hooking up a jtag while it was plugged in unless you tried soldering one in with the power on lol, electronics 101

No locks installed. I have another cheap unit on the way. Any suggestions so I don't run into the same problems when I try rewriting that one?
