yes instalation is not for the avg,person i kow i guy that does great install $30.00 worth every$ he has great rep too let me know if you want the chip email me and ill point you yo the right place hes always done great with my ps2 hes done 4 with no prob. need parts or repair he does that too!! baddog_1@cox.net

There are many different chips out there. Personally, Iuse the Matrix Infinity chips. They are constant upgrading their chip and release new firmware for it. You simply burn the firmware upgrade to a cd and use teh PS2 to install it to the chip.. easy.

Chip installation is not easy or for the average joe. You can kill your unit if you do something wrong, but, it can be a truely rewarding experience if you do it yourself successfully. It's a matter of confidence level.

I ca get the chips for $31, actually, you can order them directly from him as well. Very reputable guy here in the states and very fast shipping. He goes by the named of Netmech and he even does the install as well, if needed.. very professional installs and guarantees his work. I do them as well, but my turn around time could vary, depending on what else I have going on. This is just a side thing for me, whereas the others do it as a major part of their inome.
