I'm new to this and nailed two 420's successfully, however this 430rg has wooped my ass. After endless probs soldering/repairing/re-attaching and such, I am now at a point where my receiver dosen't pwr up with j-tag(simple) attached, and I get dcu peek error wether in boot link or not. I've read every 430/1 how to between here and "the nation", Only two sites IMHO. Not to leave out MRWhite, and unwink...I see a few of you here have extensive expierience with these bastard IRD's. BTW I do have that sob M28W... that has 71 sectors to unlock, in the process of trying to figure that out, I have lost all control of this situation, IRD does pwr up with j-tag unplugged and j-keys will recognize chip when connected just gives errors, also is responsive to boot link mode, and I'm running 3.3-4v directly to loc "9" FP. Receiver still works and next stop is E-bay if I can't crack it!!! j-tag is only @7" long incuding resistors, and made up 25 pin conn.

430s can be intimidating, but once you get them figured out, they are a piece of cake, I'd rather do a 430 than a 420.....
Take m5 up on his offer or contact me and we'll work something out..

might want to try with a buffered jtag.
You mentioned above that you are using a simple jtag, that might be your problem.

I tried a simple jtag the a guy sent me, it would not work with my PC.....so I can assume that they will work with some PCs on some IRDs, as he said it worked fine for him......

m5runner and skinnerd, you guys are appearently carrying this subject, and I can only thank you for the response, I am taking m5runner up on his very generous offer, and let it be known... No tester doing me a kind service will be doing it without a fine microbrew or at least a stiff drink in hand.
