Romcode Disaster,thinking About Canceling!

I am trying to get romcode to work, im not a newbie and i understand lots of user are up and running, programming is easy, follow the steps one by one, did it more then five times , im still getting 005 error "card not authorize"
i have left it in the receiver overnight and still 005, no joke, i have posted two threads before this one and got no responce from anyone....

i have serched the forum for simmilar problem and tried eveything i could and still 005 nag

im running a 2800 , with an unmoded tsop, changed the box key to the ones supplyed with mili's private bin, i only get info channels...

here is a couple of thing i've tried ...

write new tsop with current firmware and proper build
write eprom supplied with the tsop file
save tsop without changing ird and box key

open tsop in flash edit
change ird and box keys to the ones supplied,fix crc
saved as private modified tsop
save a virgin
write private tsop to ird
write virgin to eprom
read to check if your ird and box key are there.proper build and firmware.

This is from a thread i found , tried it and no luck !


I followed the romcode instructions to the letter, but as i found out on 301.013 and 501's, 508's and 510's first off you have to remarry the hard drive to get past the hard drive error nag. I erased flash 2 ( full erase ) three times, then flashed back with a flash that had same build and p 080 and a virgin eeprom that i created in flashedit. I then cycled power off and then back on for 20 to 30 minutes. The power light stayed on the whole time. No need to hook up sat feed at this point. After 20 to 30 minutes, erase flash 2 again, three times, then flash back with u7 flash to flash 2, the one you made in flashedit with IRD # AND boxkeys provided by romcode software. Also while in flash edit i made another virgin eeprom and loaded both flashed both back to receiver. That married the hard drive back to the receiver. After loading card i still got error 005 ( not authorized to view channel ).
This is where the romcode instructions need some help. Open Hex workshop ( if you don't have it, download it ) and open your good flash 2 that you just made with flashedit, scroll down to line 3FFF40. If at this point you see your IRD # and boxkeys you need to F out the ird # and boxkeys. Then go down to line 3FFFC0. There you will see all F's. Start at beginning of line and insert you IRD# AND boxkeys that you got from romcode software when you programmed your card. Then save that as your flash 2. It may ask to overwrite existing flash 2. Say yes. Now go back and erase flash 2 one more time and reflash with your new flash 2 that you just saved from Hex workshop. Then i also loaded virgin eeprom again. I came this far, i was not taking any more chances. Now hook up receiver to sat. feed, tv, stereo, etc.





Now when i tried to find my ird and box keys in Hex workshop, there were not at the location indacated above... when i entered them and followed the steps above , all i got was black screen,

ive also went back to Romcode , redounloaded it and took latest update.like i said programing is easy, i did chose mili's private bin in setting and chose it in tier drop down list,,, not worried about porn and locals yet ,,,, just want to see it work first... my cam is registered properly , everything seems right..am i missing something here,,

could anyone help me Please, im thinking about giving up and asking for refund for subscription and ten activations...ya a lot of money for something i cant get running...

Try this way, Use flasedit open the original bin change ird & box key and check mark the crc box it will change from red to green and save as whatever name you want and flash the tsop and write the one you saved back to your receiver and should be all set to go.

Im running a 2800 reciever ,,,,

and to the first post ,i have tried original tsop, i also located the tsop with proper build and fimeware with a vigin eprom , tried that and still 005 nag

Just use the flashedit to change the ird and box key and check mark the crc, you don't need to write the virgin eeprom.

I've have been working on this for over a week and tried every bin i could find with the proper build , i also have tried two other 2800 receivers and still 005 nag... i have done this many ways ,with virgin eprom with out programing eprom ...

Just a thought.
The first version of romcode I had did not roll the keys.
Maybe you need to update the bin by using live update?
or download the latest version if there is one.
Dont screw up you registered cams file

Hold the phone, its working, i did what you said , and it s going ppv & porn...
i was sure i tried this tsop before, i have to clean up my pc ,too much junk files ..

Sometimes, when you fire up the receiver after all this, you get NOTHING. REBOOT one more time and WALLA. That is also another possibility.

One must remember....all these things have one little trick or another.

Thanks Doc, I have it working now , but when i try to activate the second card ,im getting not yet authorized, im waiting long enough for it to activate, could it be the cam takes a while to register,seems the first cam took about a week... i had the same problem with the first one ,a week later it works...
