very important question...to me anyway

all is black,remote buttons wont work,but ird pwr light is on...I think ird is updating, heres is whats going on...I just plugged ird(pvr501) w/ newly pgrmd rom 102 in it. it sd info on hard drive is outdated, do u want to update...i hit yes. the light on ird is on, screen is black, has been this way for 25 minutes...hit up chnnl , just to see, header popped up went off, but now none of buttons on remote do anything, even pwr button,...just leave it alone??? the power light on ird is suppsed to be on right? how long should it take???assure me all is ok...please help!!! please and thank you in advance

Could be some interferance with the cloud cover depending on the signal strength you have. Give it some time as the 50x series of IRDs seem to take forever to download/reprogram firmware and get through the new setup.

yeah, you cant see 1 star where i live. very cloudy...so thats probably why its taking so long to download huh? thank you chep, at least 1 person was there for me...peace

I got all channels. i run a switch test, but firmware is still at p304. oh well. also the time zone is wrong. set for pacific, needs to be central. anyone know how to change?
