I would disagree. Remember, most of the people running romcode do so with little or no trouble. When someone has trouble, they typically post in the forums to get help. They is why you see lots of issues here. This is the home of the issues. :)

I love romcode myself. It has been the most stable testing I have had since n2 came on the scene. The software is slick, and very easy to use. It even has a live update feature.

Any method has issues for some people. Some have more than others. Romcode has few compaired to AVR-X IMHO

Romecode is awesome and very easy. I have only done IRD's with married rom102 cards but all (6) have gone smooth. I am just getting ready to try my first non married IRD 301.13 dual with open rom 102 rev 105 card I hope it go's smooth this is the first time I have done the J-tag marry thing. Good luck:D

Dank,
If they are an ex-subbed pair, then you have it made. Couldn't be much easier.

click the private bin.
program card with the 3m and thats it.

private bin = it does not change the ird and box keys on the card it uses the ones you already got.

Does ROMCODE have tiers for HD channels? I have 2 dishnet 6000 receivers and would like to know if I would be getting all the available HD channels.

Dank, I believe fubr has it backwards. Private Bin, when checked, will use the bin that comes with the romcode sotware.

At any rate, here are the important things.

#1 super important. You need to get a good copy of your married card before you do ANYTHING!!!! I can't stress this enough. Copy the file to multiple places and burn it to a cd incase your hard drive dies. You MUST have this card image or you will no longer have a married pair. You must open the card by glitching before you can do this. If you loop it, you lose the married image. If you don't know what you are doing, get help from someone that does.

#2 super important: get a copy of your IRD's TSOP. This might be more challenging if you don't have a jtag. I would do it just because someday, you will get hit with an ECM or something and lose the married TSOP. Then again, you won't have a married pair any more.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you need a VIDMOD to get a read off of U7 (flash2) on your box. If you don't have the skills to install a jtag, then send it out to be done along with a VIDMOD which you will need if you ever have to re-flash it.

Summary: Save your Card and IRD images, or you won't have a married pair any more.

Once that is done, just program with romcode software and watch tv.

Yes you still have to unlock your card but with the lower rev's 103 to 107 are a snap with a Nexus. No you do not have to do any vid mod to any IRD's for Romcode to work. The HD Tiers are being worked on right now I believe. Good luck.:D :D

That's a good question and I don't know the answer. the tiers are in a text file that you can edit if they don't have them in the included 3m.

Yes it works on HD look for my post in this forum.
YES YES you HAVE TO do a VID MOD on recievers that are not already married to the ROM102 you will be using. See www.bellexpress.vu/vidmod.html
If you got no married card to the reciever you will have to edit your TSOP's IRD# adn Box key and select Private Bin checkbox. If you have your married pair you do NOT select the Private Bin checkbox.
If you are planning to use a NOT MARRIED PVR receiver with a ROM102 you will have to:

1, Go to the TSOP bank on www.dssftp.com/files and find a VIRGIN TSOP for your receiver then edit that dump in Flashedit32 with ROMCODE's Private Box Key and IRD# then write it to your receiver. (if the receiver is a 508 or a 510 you got to vid mod it, the 501s need no VID MOD)

2, Let the receiver (with the ROM102 programmed in it) take the latest software update.

This above fuckaroo is needed because with PVRs not only the ROM card but the Hard Drive is also needs to be married and they do it the first time they powered on with a hard drive. The Virgin TSOP will be just like a first time for them.

But if my 510 has a married 102 card and it does! All I need to do is unlock card and program it with private bin right?

Dank,
You need to leave the private bin box unchecked. This will use YOUR private bin. Checking the box uses ROMCODE's private bin.
That is all you have to do to watch tv.

That is the minimum.
Some people choose to do more, and we encourge that.
:)
